Joe McElderry released today
Off on holiday tomorrow. It’s been a mad couple of weeks of work including partying at Joe McElderry’s album launch, being phoned whilst queuing in Legoland for a rollercoaster by Dustin Hoffman, madly recording some fantastic elderly musicians who could all teach me a thing or too (google trumpeter Ronnie Hughes, violinist John Georgiadis and baritone John Rawnsley) and fitting in pre-holiday appointments at Great Ormond Street for the boys. James has been in Jersey this weekend conducting Alfie Boe so I’ve had to do all the packing with the twins climbing in and out of the suitcases. Crazy times but I’m never bored.
Joe’s album is out today so I’m wishing him lots of luck. Do support him if you can, he is such a lovely guy and deserves every success. We’ll have to find internet connection up an Italian mountain to see how his album is doing. David sent me the following link which I’m copying here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neXAWOj5rXE so you can see Joe at work and admire the lovely wallpaper in my kitchen.
I leave you with my favourite holiday joke:
Why couldn’t the twin elephants go swimming together?
They only had one pair of trunks between them

Have been listening to Joe’s album non-stop since it arrived. It truly is a beautiful and moving experience. Thank you so much for your work on it.
We’ve just come back from Italy – we wanted to climb a mountain (well maybe just wander along a mountain track – we’ve got five children ranging from 15 to 5 years old!) but after a three hour drive the promised mountain visitor centre turned out to have closed many years ago and so we had no maps to guide us. Moral of the story – do more preparation at home
Hope you have a lovely relaxing break.

Thank you for helping produce Joe’s album “Classic” Absolutely love it. Lovely photo of Joe with your son Arthur & yes the wallpaper is lovely to. I’m sure you will have a great holiday & maybe, if the album does well you could be working with Joe once again, maybe early 2012. Hope so.

First of all I like to wish you a lovely holiday in beautiful Italy!
I have not received my copies of ‘Classic’ yet, because I live outside the UK, but from what I have heard so far: Im LOVING it.. Joe has such a stunning voice and with the clear and bright production of this new album, his voice can be heard in full glory.
Being a Joe fan has not been easy some of the time, especially from abroad, but it also is a lifechanging experience. I have learned a lot more about classical music and I have learned a lot of beautiful and special people.. People like you.
Thank you Juliette

I would just like to say how much we all appreciate the hard work you all put into helping produce Joe’s superb album. I have the CD in the car and listen to it all the time when I am driving. I am so delighted that the album achieved No.2 2 in the Official Chart and now look forward to hearing that he is No.1 in the classic chart. All looking good so far! What an achievement for a 20 year old! Well done Joe, and well done you, Juliette.

Enjoy your holiday Juliette!
As for the whole Popstar To Operastar thing, last time we had Darius declaring he was a classical singer and appearing in all manner of things, where is he now?? and this season Joe McCelderry?? it was inevitable an album would release and inevitable it would climb the charts because of the nature of the programme, same as X Factor et al. My personal opinion is he is not a classical singer and never will be and a few weeks on an ITV reality show wont make him one and no doubt after this Cd that will be the end of it.You have to ask yourself what happened to the likes of the guy who won Britains Got Talent??cant even remember his name now Paul someone???
I wish Joe well with his Cd but its not classical so for it to get to number 2 in the classical charts how does it qualify?.

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments but the credit must go to Joe. I do hear what you are saying Anita but rest assured, Joe went into the mainstream charts at no.2 not the classical and unlike Darius and Paul, I don’t think he has any aspirations to be a classical/opera singer but simply wants to sing great songs with great tunes. Interestingly he did say how useful he found the classical training on Popstar to Opera Star and that it really helped his ‘pop’ voice too.

Paul Potts won BGT and seems to be doing fine, perhaps more overseas than here: http://www.paulpottsofficial.com/ and http://www.facebook.com/paulpottsmusic
Joe is still in the top ten of the mainstream charts … amazing
