Belton House Spitfire Prom
Belton House
For all those of you WWII aircraft enthusiasts, I have uploaded more details of this Prom concert on June 4th with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Weather permitting (here we go again!) there should be an aircraft display as part of the evening entertainment. I remember watching Charlie Brown flypast in his Spitfire at a Castle Howard Prom I was performing in a couple of years back and found myself feeling very moved by it.
I’ll be singing some opera, some songs form WWII and of course such Prom favourites as Rule Britannia etc. Hope to see some of you there.

Now I am really upset. It was bad enough missing the concert but I’m now missing a great photo opportunity as well! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Ah, poor Lee, my heart bleeds for you! (sheds crocodile tears!)Having already committed myself to attending two concerts in June, in the Lake District and Cornwall, unfortunately this would be stretching my pension a bit TOO far, not to mention my wife Lois’ forbearance at another absence, I’ll get to one of your concerts yet, Juliette. I hope the weather stays fine, and those of you attending have a great evening.

Hi Juliette,
many thanks for the update and I now have 2 tickets for Gill and myself for that event.I am not sure why but when I went to 2011 concerts and clicked on the Belton Concert link I got a COULD NOT FIND message.
After perseverance and opening an account with ticket master I finally got through and have been able to frint off a receipt for them although they cannot be used for entry.
See you all on the night with sunshine, fine weather and picnics and chairs on board.

Hello Juliette,
Gill and I will certainly look forward to a quick hello and thank you on the night.It does seem ages since Bedford when I was with Lee My apologies for not getting back sooner but I have been pre-occupied by a surgeon’s knife on my right hand,so even typing is awkward at the moment and I have a wedding to play for on May 21st so I had better get my physiotherapy right and all the digits doing the right thing at the right time.
