David Bowie’s Starman

We recorded a demo yesterday for Decca. Their idea is a black boy band singing Bowie’s Starman with a Motown/Outkast vibe. Okay, I guess it doesn’t read so well as a concept but I can assure you it sounds a lot better than you might think. It made me feel very old though as none of the boys had ever heard the song before!!! I also couldn’t help wondering whether one of the guys knew that his trousers had fallen down so much they were practically underneath his bottom. I mean, I could see ALL of his boxer shorts. I don’t care how much James insists it’s trendy, you surely don’t want people you’ve just met to see your underwear.
Back into Kings with the boys this afternoon for more tests which is a good thing as my list of questions for the consultant is almost a side of A4 now. I still haven’t got an appointment for Seth with audiology despite my best efforts but if necessary I’ll just take him along to Arthur’s next appointment and ask them to see him too. I’m bribing the boys with chocolate buttons today. I know it’s not considered very good parenting to bribe them with chocolate but the trouble is, they are beginning to know what happens at the hospital and they can also hear their brother screaming and know it’s their go next… Despite everyone’s worries about their brain development, they are not stupid and clearly have no trouble working that one out!!!

Hi Juliette and family,
boxer shorts don’t sound all that trendy to me but it might depend on the colour, but what price fame.
I sincerely hope all goes well at Kings. You might try a different level of bribery with the audiologist by using ‘Black Magic’ chocolates. As an alternative just be gently insistant using that ‘liquid chocolate’ voice and explaining that mum and dad know best. It has worked for my family in the past.
David.

Best of Luck Juliette….with both projects! (wouldn’t you just love to sneak up from behind and give them the worlds biggest ‘wedgie’!! Then, they might pull ‘em up to avoid it happening again!)

I have been known to do the boxer shorts thinggy, more by accident than by design. I have enough problems remembering my jeans, let alone the belt that goes with them.
Juliette, it may be a good idea to introduce the boys to chocolate money, may as well start them off as they should mean to go on.
However, I do hope the little chaps get better in leaps and bounds.
Best wishes
